Length: 6,262 yards Par: 71 Parkland Course
Having been established in 1906, visitors have been enjoying the scenic course at The Bishopbriggs Golf Club for more than 100 years. Set within the boundary of the original Kenmure Estate, the course incorporates a wide range of woodland species, which have matured with the layout to create an interesting test of golf. As such, the golfer standing on the first tee here would do well to formulate an early plan of attack, with inaccuracy sure to be punished on the many holes that are lined with woodland and shrubbery. Indeed, with a burn which transects the course coming into play on many occasions as well, positioning rather than length is paramount at Bishopbriggs, which should speak volumes for societies. On and off the course, the club has recently undergone a period of redevelopment, thanks to a generous sportscotland grant, which has helped greatly to improve the quality of the course and the additional facilities on-site, including a driving range and a golf academy.
With all things considered, Bishopbriggs has much to offer society golfers in search of a fantastic day in 2012.
