Course Description

Forrester Park is set in beautiful Essex countryside overlooking the River Blackwater, in the village of Great Totham.

A ten-minute drive off the A12 between Chelmsford and Colchester, the well-established 6073-yard par-71 parkland course has plenty of hazards to challenge players regardless of ability or handicap.

With its tree-lined undulating fairways, the course is about accuracy rather than distance, judgment rather than strength.

A perfect example of this is the par-4 12th, measuring a mere 325 yards off the yellows and 335 yards off the whites. However, if you think that sounds easy, think again.

It's recognised as the toughest hole on the course with out of bounds all the way up the right-hand side. Positioning is vital to attack the pin correctly and well-placed trees overhang just short of the green.

The 17th offers a similar challenge with the Forrester Park course guide saying, 'Rumours have it you either have to turn sideways or walk single file down the fairway because it's that narrow' but, once you get through that par-4 unscathed, the gentle par-5 18th offers the perfect birdie chance to finish your day on a high.

There are plenty of society packages to take advantage of, while the quaint, old school clubhouse is the ideal spot to chill and enjoy a post-round meal.
