Length: 5,984 yards Par: 69 Parkland Course
A welcoming club situated to the East of Glasgow, Lenzie Golf Club presents a varied and thoroughly enjoyable course that is ideal for visiting golf societies.
A mix of moor and parkland, tight fairways lined by mature beech trees, thorn hedges and burns are a feature of the course.
Larch and Fir plantations form the boundaries between fairways, particularly on the moorland part of the course.
Lenzie is a reasonably flat layout apart from one spot, the daunting ‘Alma’ hole, which plays up a sheer slope. The members’ tip is to attack the green from the left-hand-side of the fairway. You’ll need a rest when you reach the top, though this is the perfect opportunity to take in a wonderful panorama.
The front nine eases you into the round, with a stiffer test awaiting on the back. As the holes progress, the rough thickens, as do the trees - both of which come into play more and more on the inward half.
Lenzie offers challenging but enjoyable golf on a well-maintained course, as well as fine views of surrounding areas from the Campsie Hills to Ben Lomond and beyond - a great venue for your next society outing.
