A modern links-style layout overlooking Carmarthen Bay and the Gower Peninsula, and already home to the the Ladies’ Championship of Europe, Machynys has earned itself an enviable reputation as the UK’s best new golf course since opening in 2005.
Designed by Gary Nicklaus, son of the legendary Jack, the course cost £3.5million to build - and there’s no question that it was money well spent.
The fourth, fifth, 16th and 18th holes are particular stand-outs, whilst a top-of-the-range irrigation system has been installed to ensure that the course is in top condition all throughout the season.
A choice of five tees, meantime, make the course playable for players of all handicaps, no matter how high or low.
The Machynys experience is about more than just a golf course, however. The club is also home to a state-of-the-art golf academy, as well as an adjoining health club and Spa.
There are also sophisticated conferencing facilities whilst there are fantastic dining options that are available to both members and guests alike.
