Course Description

Formed in 1903, Bangor Golf Club moved to its present location in 1933 when more land become available on the east side of town with James Braid brought in to lead the design of the new holes over gently undulating terrain.

Little has changed since, too, with Bangor’s features still maintaining those symptomatic with a traditional Braid design.

Bangor has a classic parkland feel, with the 6,410-yard course laid out in two loops of nine holes with each ending at the clubhouse.

The outward nine contains two of the three par-5s on the course which is the main reason why their overall yardage is 550 yards more than the inward nine.

The hardest hole on the front nine is the fifth – a 463-yard right doglegged par-4 where making a par will feel like you’ve made a birdie. Strangely, the toughest hole on the back nine is on the adjacent fairway in the par-4 15th.

The club prides itself on being a friendly, family orientated golf club, while visitors are warmly welcomed with packages that are tailored to meet the needs of each individual party, large or small.
