Course Description

St Helen’s Bay is a resort course in County Wexford that is less than 25 years old. It opened in 1993 and was designed by three-time European Tour winner and 1995 Ryder Cup player Philip Walton.

He created the par-72, 6,641-yard layout and although it is played mainly as a parkland courses, the final four holes are played over some interesting links land with some enviable views of the Irish Sea and Wexford coastline.

Self-catering cottages are available on-site for golfers who wish to set up base in the area, while the club have planted palm trees around the track to enhance its appeal.

Holes at St Helen’s Bay are routed in two loops of nine, with each ending near to the clubhouse. The par-5 15th hole, at a whopping 618 yards, is one of the longest holes in the country.

The four par-3s are all pretty long, too, with the shortest measures a hefty 179 yards. ‘Splaugh Rock’, meanwhile, is the 17th and at 210 yards, has the potential to be a real card-wrecker.
