Course Description

Founded in 1907, Scrabo Golf Club is situated above the town of Newtownards in Northern Ireland and, at 500ft above sea level, offers stunning views overlooking Strangford Lough.

Set in the heart of the County Down countryside, the skyline around the 18-hole, par-71 course is dominated by the famous landmark – the Scrabo Tower – which was built as a memorial to the Third Marquis of Londonderry.

With its own unique personality, challenge and charm, Scrabo Golf Club is a favourite among golfers from Northern Ireland and beyond.

On a clear day, even Scotland and the Isle of Man can be seen from many of the holes.

Renowned for its links style, gorse-bordered fairways, accurate driving is essential – no more so than on the 424-yard par-4 first hole, which Christy O’Connor Snr described as one of the best opening holes in all of Ireland.

A warm welcome awaits in the clubhouse, where there are excellent bar and restaurant facilities, all with amazing views of the Ards Peninsula while you wine and dine. With two restaurants, a lounge and dancefloor, the club can host any occasion from birthdays to weddings.
