Course Description

Founded in 1761, the Bruntsfield Links Golfing Society is the fourth oldest golf club in the world and one of Scotland's most prestigious golf clubs, located 3 miles from Edinburgh city centre.

The mature parkland style course was designed by Willie Park Jnr with modifications by world renowned architect Dr Alister MacKenzie. Bruntsfield is characterised by strategic fairway bunkering, a variety of dog-leg holes and mature woodland.

Holes 9, 10 & 11 play 360 degrees around a secluded quarry at the heart of the course. Golfers will find wildlife including deer, pheasant and birds of prey. As a testament to the quality of the course, since 2011 The R&A have selected Bruntsfield as a Qualifying Course for The Open. Past legends who have played Bruntsfield include Peter Thomson, Walter Hagen and Sandy Lyle.

Bruntsfield’s grand clubhouse offers excellent dining with panoramic views over the Firth of Forth to Fife and beyond. Famous for their multi-choice carvery lunches incorporating fresh local produce. Visitors are able to enjoy the golfing memorabilia on display, with collections of hickory clubs, featherie balls and fine paintings dating back more than 250 years.

If in the Edinburgh region Bruntsfield is a must visit for those who enjoy the heritage of golf.
