There are few places societies can expect a warmer welcome than at the genuinely hospitable South Kyme Golf Club.
The signature hole, the par-3 14th, presents a particularly memorable test of a player’s nerve. Though the green is large, to find it takes an approach across a large lake.
The course at South Kyme has undergone an extensive programme of redevelopment that has involved the planting of many trees, adding a distinctive definition to the layout.
While some of the trees are still to fully mature, there is no questioning that South Kyme already presents a superb parkland environment in which to test your skill.
In recent years, the drainage has also been significantly improved to keep the course in better condition for longer, illustrated by the fact that it often remains open when adverse weather forces neighbouring courses to close.
The drainage feeds the added hazard of many water features, while, should you stray too far from the fairway, you’ll find the rough is penal.
