Course Description

Maesteg Golf Club has a prime location in the picturesque Llynfi Valley and, just a short distance from the M4 and South Wales coast, it’s an ideal place for your next society day out.

The James Braid-designed course, measuring just shy of 6,000 yards, has an abundance of character and, in its attractive setting, offers its own distinct level of play to both beginners and seasoned golfers.

Despite being an easy course to walk, Maesteg will constantly challenge visitors with many sloping lies and awkward stances - enough to test even the most accomplished of players.

Its yardage would suggest a good score is easy to attain, but that certainly isn’t the case, as the numerous short holes need serious concentration and pin-point approach shots.

The course has a number of memorable holes, none more so than the par-3 6th. Here, deep bunkers left and right will catch wayward shots, while the two-tiered green makes chipping back from through the green a real test.

The 11th, meanwhile, is aesthetically brilliant. It has a classic tree-lined look with a slightly off angle tee shot and tight driving area.

A large putting green is located adjacent to the first tee and a good sized grass practice area provides the perfect environment and feel for the course prior to your game.
