Length: 6,642 yards Par: 72 Parkland Course
Overlooking the charming town of Royal Wootton Bassett, the Lakes Course at The Wiltshire Hotel, Golf & Country Club makes the most of its enviable location to present a wonderful test of golf amidst a scenic landscape.
Originally designed by Peter Alliss and recently updated by William Swann, the 6,642-yard, 18-hole Lakes course is a par-72 layout that has been fashioned from the picturesque Wiltshire countryside.
To approach greens built to exacting USGA standards with anything other than caution, it is essential to find the rolling, manicured and welcoming fairways off the tee. Meanwhile, the putting surfaces at The Wiltshire run smooth, fast and true, but are subtly contoured to focus the minds of all levels of golfers.
The quality of the championship-standard Lakes Course has been illustrated by its selection to host national EGU events.
There’s also the bonus of an extra nine holes to enjoy, though don’t be fooled into thinking The Wiltshire’s nine-hole Garden course is a pitch and putt. It is a 3,300-yard course which, when played from two sets of tees, sets up a par-71 course with three par-5s.
