Course Description

Set in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales countryside and just ten miles from the Lake District, the golf course at Sedbergh has been described by many as one of the most scenic and tranquil in the north of England.

The golf course has been professionally designed and constructed making the most of the naturally undulating parkland. With tree-lined holes and fairways crossing the River Dee and others running alongside the River Rawthey, the emphasis is placed upon accuracy rather than distance.

The par-4 fi fth hole, measuring 427 yards, is the toughest on the course and, possibly, in the region. The River Dee dissects the hole at driving distance, which only the longest of hitters will have the length to carry. Mere mortals must lay up short of the river, which leaves an approach shot of over 200 yards to a severely sloping green, which is well guarded with water on the front and right and out of bounds to the left and the back.

Sedbergh Golf Club is Cumbria’s ‘hidden gem’ and is quite simply a must-play for any golfer visiting or travelling through Cumbria or the Yorkshire Dales.
