Course Description

One of the oldest and finest clubs in Nottigham is Beeston Fields Golf Club. Founded in 1923, the club is approaching its 100th anniversary and this historic institution has been a part of the region’s life for many a year.

However, it owes much of its success to the Mitchell family. Tom Williamson designed the course and it was opened by then Open Champion Arhur Havers, but the service of Fred Mitchell, who also played the course as well as running it for almost 50 years, cannot be underestimated. He handed the reigns to his newphew John, who in turn passed the legacy to his daughter, Philippa Marshall. She is now one of the few female managing directors of a golf club in the UK, and she is in charge of a challenging parkland course that is tucked away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Its trees and natural contours add to both the beauty and difficulty of the golf course.

You can follow in the footsteps of many famous players such as Robert Di Vicenzo, Lee Westwood and Fred Daley. And why not visit the stunning clubhouse, why was originally a beautiful country house built in 1837.
