Course Description
Kilspindie Golf Club is one of the finest golf courses in the south-east of Scotland, lying hidden among the nature reserve of Aberlady Bay, the quaint village of Aberlady, and the teaming waters of the Firth of Forth.
When playing these traditional Scottish links, you may witness seabirds diving for food, migratory geese, and seals sunning on the sand, while in the distance, you can see the profile of Edinburgh, its castle, and the long extinct volcanic cone of Arthur’s Seat.
The links were designed by Park and Sayers and have had minor modifications over the years. The par-3 first hole is due north while the second is the only par-5 but, when playing into a prevailing wind from the south-west, it can almost play more like a par-6!
The signature hole is unquestionably the eighth which, from the medal tees, plays across a sandy bay. Some years ago, during an Assistant Professional’s competition, there were two holes-in-one on consecutive days - the first with a wedge and the second with a-3 wood. The joys of the local weather!
The course is a favourite of any golfer who has played it: quick, deceptive greens, well-defined fairways, and a good challenge whatever your handicap.
Said to be the 35th oldest club in the world, Kilspindie's charm is complemented by the warmth of the welcome from its staff.
