Course Description

Designed by Old Tom Morris, the Machrihanish Golf Club is in the company of some of Scotland’s most famed courses such as Royal Dornoch, Muirfield and Carnoustie. The club is situated in the quiet surroundings of the remote Kintyre Peninsula and as a result, it's perfect for a peaceful society getaway with friends.

Machrihanish has become well known in recent years, mainly because of its exceptional first hole, which requires your opening tee shot to carry the Atlantic if you’re to find the fairway. It's a tough start, particularly into a breeze, but an enjoyable challenge, nonetheless.

However, this is far from the only attraction the course has to offer. Its greens run fast and firm, with some sunk into the ground and others raised on a plateau. Across the 18 holes at this hidden gem you’ll find views of the Atlantic as well as the islands of Jura and Islay, adding to the tranquil scenery of Machrihanish’s course. During your round, you will have to contend with blind tee shots, undulating fairways and stunning dunes if you're to score well.

If you're searching for a round of testing golf among natural beauty, the Machrihanish Golf Club is definitely worth visiting.
