Course Description

Set deep in the heart of the beautiful Staffordshire countryside and only six miles from the centre of Stafford, The Chase Golf Club is becoming an increasingly popular stop-off for visiting groups and societies.

Although superbly placed for access to transport links, when out on the course you feel miles away from the urban area with stunning views across the Wrekin and Clee Hills.

The course itself is a challenging par-72 measuring 6,456 yards and was originally built upon sand and gravel allowing fantastic drainage and ensuring play can continue uninterrupted from wet weather conditions 12 months of the year.

There is a mixture of tricky par-3s and testing par-5s to give the course great variety and ensuring all 14 clubs in your bag are utilised.

With well-placed hazards and wild rough in place to catch those wayward tee shots, over-confidence can find you off the fairways and requiring tricky shots to get back in play.

The front nine opens with a long par-4 and closes with the course’s signature hole – a simple par-3 if you can ignore the lake in front of you and the two deep bunkers protecting both sides of the green.

The back nine, meanwhile, offers up some birdie chances with three par-5s and the short par-4 16th. Keep the ball in play and a low score can realistically be made on the inward nine.
