Course Description
Rotherham is a classic parkland golf course set in the expansive, beautiful grounds of Thrybergh Park, the home over the centuries to some of South Yorkshire’s most noble families.
Designed by Open champion Sandy Herd in 1903, it was later modified by fellow Scottish champion golfer and celebrated course architect, James Braid. Rolling tree-lined fairways and well-kept, slick running greens cared for in the most delightful surroundings are the memories you will take away with you.
The connection with major champions doesn’t end there, though. That’s because the club proudly boasts 2016 Masters champion Danny Willett as a member, with the Englishman having joined as a teenager back in 2005 as he started his journey to stardom.
“With its immaculate tree lined fairways and small greens, Rotherham Golf Club presents a pleasurable and true test of golf of all levels,” says Willett, and he certainly isn’t wrong.
The newly refurbished Neo Gothic clubhouse also provides a range of events including a stunning venue for couples on their wedding day and for businesses looking to host events.
