Course Description

On a quiet bend of the tranquil Helford River nestles the award-winning four-star Budock Vean Hotel and Golf Club. Set in 65 acres of gardens and woodland, the Budock Vean is a sanctuary for rest and relaxation.

The hotel has 56 rooms, 4 public lounges, a full size snooker room and 2 tennis courts. The restaurant is renowned for amazing food, plus there’s relaxing treatments in the Natural Health Spa, luxury self-catering holiday homes, tennis courts, kayaking and boat trips along the river, so you can be as active or as relaxed as you wish. The hotel is also dog friendly.

As well as the fantastic facilities listed above, Budock Vean is also highly regarded for its fantastic nine-hole golf course, which features 18 tees. Hotel and holiday cottage guests can play the course free of charge as much as they like during their stay.

Originally designed by five-time Open champion James Braid back in the 1920s, the course is set in mature parkland with the first tee a few paces from the hotel's golf bag room. There’s also a golf shop and cosy golfers bar overlooking the course.

Measuring 5,235 yards, it is not a course that is particularly heavy on the legs, although it will prove to be a challenge for beginners and advanced golfers alike.

The seventh hole on this interesting course was, until recently, the longest par-5 in the county measuring some 572 yards. The ninth, meanwhile, called 'The Flower Bowl', is widely regarded is one of the finest short holes in Cornwall.

Budock Vean have created an interactive 360 degree aerial tour of the golf course, complete with stats on each hole and the best way to play it. With amazing views of the course and the Helford River in the background, it's a new and exciting development. Explore the course at www.budockvean.co.uk/360
