Course Description
Looking for a game right in the very heart of the Highlands? Look no further than Fort William Golf Club.
Nestled at the foot of Ben Nevis, the UK’s highest peak, the 18-hole heathland layout provides a great challenge whilst also offering some of the most stunning views in the country.
First built in 1975, Fort William was overhauled in 1995, which brought huge improvements to its playability. However, it has retained its charm and appeal to beginners and more experienced golfers alike.
If you decide to play here, keep a particular eye out for the par-3 sixth. It’s one of the most stunning holes in the area – but it’s also fraught with danger. The wide green is surrounded by trees, while you must also navigate a burn. It’s got potential to be a card-wrecker if you leave it short.
While in the area, Fort William has plenty to offer away from the golf course, too. This is where the West Highland Way finishes, while the Great Glen, which splits the country in two from west to east via its canal system, is truly a sight to behold.
